Job Description ● Assist in the preparation of teaching materials needed to teach the students in the class room. ● Assist in the planning and implementation of Individual Education Programs for students and the monitoring of students’ academic progress. ● Assist in the preparation of the class room. ● Assist in the educational and social development of students. Competencies ● Major in Early Childhood Education and with good handwork skill will be preferred. ● First aid certificate would be preferred or training provided. ● Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with students, treating them with respect and consideration. ● Sufficient knowledge, expertise and awareness of students’ social, emotional and learning needs to work effectively with teachers as part of a professional team. ● Ability to work effectively with individual students, either in small groups or whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. ● Tact, discretion, confidentiality and the willingness to work as a member of a team. ● Fluent in English and Mandarin. ● Support students in Chinese classes including all academic and CCA as required. ● Support students with emotional / behavioural problems and help develop their social skills / behaviours, including the implementation of behaviour modification programmes when required. ● Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom, including supporting access to camps, educational visits and whole school activities, to enable students to fully participate in activities. ● Assist students with personal care needs e.g. toileting, changing clothes as and when needed. ● Perform duties as requested by Chinese teachers on daily basis. ● Assist in keeping teaching materials and students’ records organized and be flexible when assigned to other duties. Perform all other duties as requested by Chinese teacher. ● Perform duties with other members of staff such as break/lunchtime/school departure time of students’ supervision some of which will be daily and others in rotation.
